Local Natives @ Wedgewood Rooms

18 11 2010

Sorry, I couldn’t be bothered to make up a witty title, but I am suffering a cold at the moment and I have a lot fo work on and blah, blah, blah.

Anyway I went to see Local Natives at the Wedgewood Rooms last night, having only decided to go on the day and not hearing very much of their music.  Now, I have been to enough gigs in my time to know a good band when I see one, and Local Natives were a very good band, they were obviously talented and played well, but the music left me a bit, well, meh!

I can’t really say what I felt about it, because at the end of the day I didn’t really feel anything at all.  They do have some excellent moustaches though.

On the other hand, the first support band  Cloud Control, were really worth going to see, I liked their music and picked up lots of influences on them Vampire Weekend being one of them.  Sadly they are only playing 2 more support dates in the UK before they head back to their native Australia.

Looke them up on their official site or myspace.

I love the Local Natives but knowing you I’m not really surprised that they didn’t electrify you. Sorry to hear you’ve got a cold.

Don’t get me wrong, they are good live, just didn’t do anything for me at all.

I’ve never seen them live. I think it is about time I saw some live music, the last time was IKO at the Louisana when my car got smashed up.
